Liberator Pro - DSL Network Simulator Enhancements

Broadframe Launches World’s First DSL Protocol Analyzer

Austin, TX USA – April 10, 2001 – Broadframe Corporation announces the world’s first test product capable of evaluating and analyzing data protocols on the DSL wire. The Broadframe Liberator PRO is a powerful, compact unit which enables decoding and debugging of data protocols over a simulated DSL network.

"The Liberator Pro is an essential tool for developing DSL equipment," said Mike Trujillo, Broadframe President. "Until now, it was not possible for developers to debug actual network protocols across a DSL connection. We designed Liberator PRO so that developers can record data traffic and decode data protocols in an efficient manner within a controlled environment," said Trujillo. "Liberator PRO allows engineers to be more productive by cutting out the development time wasted on problem identification."

Liberator PRO adds protocol analysis capability to the original Liberator released in September 2000. The original Liberator is a network simulator, combining the critical functions of a DSL Access Multiplexor (DSLAM), Service node, and Internet server into a single unit. Major DSL equipment manufacturers have been buying Liberator to accelerate their product development, test the equipment coming off the production line, and demonstrate their products to customers without the hassle of setting up a live DSL line.

Liberator customers upgrade to the Liberator PRO simply by installing new firmware and software, which adds the protocol analysis capabilities.

Liberator PRO is being introduced and demonstrated for the first time at DSLcon Spring 2001 in Denver, Colorado.

Applications

Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) developers can use Liberator PRO to record data traffic and decode, evaluate, and analyze data protocols on the DSL wire.

Liberator PRO is also ideal for field testing or quick verification of modems and other CPE equipment by test engineers and field technicians.
